Conscious Employers

Conscious employers are committing to treating graduates of learning programs from members of the Global Accreditation Council in the same way they would treat graduates of other universities and learning institutions. Current Conscious Employers include:

Are you a
Conscious Employer
willing to do the same?

Here is a letter that we send to potential conscious employers:

A number of conscious learning organizations have got together under the banner of the Global Accreditation Council to provide a quality assured learning experience in transformational education, for both degrees and life-long learning. We are now reaching out to conscious employers like you to ask you to recognise GAC credentials as you would any other.

GAC members go through a quality assessment process after which they become part of the community of learning providers in the GAC. The GAC provides a currency of credits that enables learners to get credits from any of the member organizations and build towards any degree or professional credential offered by the members. A quality assured global learning and credit system focused on inner and outer regeneration. What more could you ask for?

Founding members include Vandana Shiva’s Navdanya Earth University, Otto Scharmer’s Presencing Institute, Gaia Education, the University of International Cooperation, Wilderness Foundation UK and Ubiquity University. You can see all the current members here.

In order to create trust amongst potential students and learners, and start to build an ecology that connects conscious people, learning institutes and employers, we are asking employers to agree to a simple statement:

“We agree to treat graduates of learning programs from members of the Global Accreditation Council in the same way we would treat graduates of other universities and learning institutions.”

We are not asking for preferential treatment, just that you recognise GAC approved credentials as you would any other. As we grow, we think that you will actually come to value the GAC stamp of approval as a guarantee of values alignment as well as quality, and may actively seek out graduates from GAC member. For now, one step at a time.

If you are willing to support us in that way, please fill out this short google form.

Here is some info on the process for GAC membership if you would like to know more. There are two parts to the assessment process:

  • Firstly, an Impact Assessment to make sure that applicant members are aligned with our values. You can see it here.

  • Secondly, the learning experience assessment using two Online Learning Consortium quality scorecards. OLC is a well-established third party assessor of quality in learning (they started out as the Sloan Consortium in 1999). It’s a rigorous process that really covers all the bases from the tech experience to the pedagogy.

If you have any questions, please just let us know by email.
